Glen Forbes

Chairman and Trustee 


Glen has an MBA in International Business coupled with over 15 years of direct business experience in various parts of Africa but in particular Ethiopia. He has been involved in major commercial projects with The Ethiopian Ministry of Finance, The Central Bank of Ethiopia and latterly Ethiopian Airlines. He has spent significant periods of time in Addis Ababa and has travelled extensively throughout the country. Glen is based in central London but travels regularly to Ethiopia.

Achim Kram

Trustee, Chief Operating Officer

Achim has a degree in Business Management and Marketing. Over 15 years in International Marketing and Business Development in the media industry coupled with various executive positions in start-up companies as well as non-profit organisations have given him solid expertise and know how to lead eef’s Operations, Marketing and Fundraising. Achim has travelled widely throughout Ethiopia.

Wanda Elliot

Finance Director

Wanda is a CPA from Australia with over 12 years accounting experience in large organisations, within the UK and Australia. She has spent the majority of that time in mobile telecommunications, but has also worked in FMCG, charity and public sectors. She has lived in the UK since 2002, enjoys travelling and has spent 6 months in Africa. As eef Finance Director Wanda is responsible for the general accounting activities of the foundation.

Diana Houlder

Programme Director Ethiopia

Diana joined the EEF team in May 2010 and is responsible for our operation in Ethiopia. She has joined after spending some months in Addis Ababa working with Women at Risk which focuses predominantly on rehabilitation, HIV/AIDS healthcare, child intervention and prevention education programs, which has given her great insight on the issues and risks women and girls’ face in this country. She is keen to continue working with adolescents here and build a safe and productive environment in which they can learn, live and grow. Gaining a BA in Social Anthropology, she has recently studied counselling, loves cultural diversity and believes in the importance of understanding and learning from one another’s differences.

Marcio Sampaio

Project Manager

Marcio has a degree in Architecture and Urban Planning. He has worked for more than ten years as an architect where has designed and built many buildings. Marcio has been working with EEF since 2008 when he managed and oversaw the construction and completion of our Boys Hostel in Addis Ababa. Marcio also designed the Girls Hostel in 2009 and has helped in its final construction. Marcio manages a variety of EEF projects.

Matt Sarson

Assistant Programme Director Ethiopia

Matt first became passionate about African development after volunteering in Tanzania for two months in 2004. Since then he has worked for several NGOS in London, including CARE International, and joined us after spending six months studying grass roots charities across three continents, as project manager on the ‘Real Way Down’. Matt joined us in October 2011. His main role is manager of our boys’ hostel and as such he is responsible for the wellbeing and performance of our male scholarship students. He will also focus on building new and exciting partnerships between EEF and organisations all around the world, as well as helping to encourage the students to develop outside of school. He is relishing the opportunity to play a role in Ethiopia’s prosperous future.

Justine Wyness

Marketing

Justine is a seasoned media and marketing professional with over 20 years experience in publishing and online retail. After sponsoring one of our students and visiting our operation in Ethiopia in early 2011 she decided to get involved with eef on an ongoing basis.

Delyth Hughes

Scholarship Programme Co-ordinator

Delyth has over 10 years media experience working as a journalist and PR specialist for a range of international companies, most notably Discovery Channel, where she discovered her passion for Africa in all its guises. Having travelled extensively throughout the continent she has witnessed first hand how projects like EEF can help both individuals and communities alike.
