scholarship programme

The scholarships will be awarded to at least ten girls and ten boys and will include the following:

Four years of fully paid tuition, for the period Grade 9-12, at the School Of Tomorrow, one of Ethiopia's leading private schools. The start date for each school year is in early September.

A small annual sum to cover school uniforms, school books and registration fees.

We believe that the School Of Tomorrow provides the best basis for our students as it enjoys an excellent reputation and has been able to gain high academic achievements continuously. The students rank top position in the country's standardised National Examinations. For example in the 2004/2005 academic year National Examinations the students scored the following:

Grade 8: 93% of students scored over 90%
Grade 10: 94% of the students gained a grade average of 3.00 and above (maximum grade achievable is 4)
Grade 12: 100% of the students accepted for degree programmes in Ethiopia, Europe and North America.

We not only believe very strongly that the schools principles match with our own views but also feel that the guidance that each student gets from the school is complemented by the coaching from their individual eef mentor.

The scholarship is granted to students that would not be able to finance even a basic education. eef will search for students with high potential and coming from a very unprivileged socio-economic background. We will select students from a balanced pool from a gender, racial and religious perspective, although the selection process will be based on academic merit and potential only.
