The eef mission

The eef mission is to provide excellent schooling for severely under privileged yet motivated, academically promising students in Ethiopia, empowering them with the skills that will enable them to transform Ethiopia’s future.

Each year eef selects around 20 promising Ethiopian students for its scholarship programme and provides them with 4 years (aged 14 -18) of excellent secondary schooling at the School of Tomorrow in Addis Ababa , one of Ethiopia’s leading secondary schools.

The ultimate aim is for our scholars to reach university. After 7 years, we have 154 students on the programme. The first 76 are currently at university, most of them studying medicine or engineering.

EEF is an effective child sponsorship programme that produces measurable and sustainable results year after year without wasting any money on admin. We are all volunteers and nobody gets a salary apart from our local Ethiopian cooks who are employed via our partner school.
